In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul says, “Our weapons are mighty to pull down strongholds.” What weapons is he referring to? Obviously from the context of the verse, he is talking about offensive weaponry. Every believer at one time or another in his life has to ask himself, “What are these weapons?”
The Word of God is our primary weapon. Hebrews 4:12 tells us: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He responded to every attack of the enemy with “It is written.” He used the Word of God as a sword. This is our model. When the enemy attacks your mind with lies, respond with truth. When he tells you God has abandoned you, declare: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” When he tells you your situation is hopeless, declare: “With God all things are possible.”
The Word of God, combined with praise and worship, creates an atmosphere in which the enemy cannot operate. This is the secret of spiritual victory.
