Healing and Deliverance

Praise and worship are ministry to God. Healing and deliverance are ministry to people. In June of 1972, a letter came from Poland inviting our musical group, Living Sound, to sing on the campus of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

The letter appeared to be an official invitation from the university. We were excited. We had been praying for an opportunity to minister behind the Iron Curtain. We applied for visas and were granted permission to enter Poland. We arrived in Warsaw and were met by a group of young Christians who had arranged the tour.

We ministered in churches, universities, and public halls. Thousands of young people came to hear us. Many gave their lives to Christ. The power of praise and worship broke through barriers that no political force could penetrate. God’s love, expressed through music and worship, reached hearts that had been closed for decades.

This is the power of praise and worship — it brings healing to individuals and deliverance to nations. When we lift our voices in genuine worship, heaven responds. The chains of oppression, fear, and despair are broken. This is not theory. This is what we witnessed firsthand in Poland, Romania, Hungary, and the Soviet Union.
